Relying on top teams in the materials field, including Academician Xu Huibin from Beihang University, Academician Lin Jianguo from Imperial College London, and Academician Ding Wenjiang from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, we are committed to the application development and engineering research of new materials, promoting the combination of advanced materials technology and industry, and accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Beihang University Qingdao New Materials Technology Research Institute was established on June 1, 2017.

Research directions include advanced light alloy materials, automotive lightweighting material technology, and high-performance lightweight material testing and evaluation. With the strong support of the research institute and Laoshan District Government, we have jointly created a “Automotive Lightweighting Material Technology Engineering Center” with a complete pilot line of “melting-casting-finishing-heat treatment-machining-testing”, forming R&D and pilot testing capabilities.

In addition, the New Materials Research Institute has established the “Beihang University Qingdao High-Performance Lightweight Material Testing and Evaluation Center”, which can support advanced materials technology research and the training of materials graduate students, and undertake technical services such as performance testing, quality assessment, and failure analysis of advanced light alloy materials, providing comprehensive solutions for products.
